We're pleased to offer the following services for dogs and cats in our Plantsville Veterinary Clinic:
Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately. It is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.
Yearly vaccines
Protection against diseases is a top priority for us at Apple Valley Vets. That is why it is important for your dog or cat to be vaccinated against diseases that could be harmful to both your pet and you. Vaccinations offered for our canine patients include Rabies, Distemper, Borreliosis (Lyme Disese), Adenovirus, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza, Coronavirus, Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough, but not all of these might be appropriate for every individual. Our feline patients are offered Panleukopenia (Distemper), Feline Leukemia, and Rabies. Once the animal is a little older the vaccines are rotated on a 3 year schedule to reduce the possibility of vaccine reactions. Your pet will be vaccinated every year, but not with all of the vaccines.
Special Lab Tests
Sometimes non routine laboratory tests are needed to help diagnose pet problems. These may include endocrine studies, cytology and biopsies, electrolytes, and others. These test are performed when more information is needed to diagnose and give an accurate prognosis for your pet and to set up an appropriate treatment plan.
Emergency & Urgent Care
We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty 6 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet's life. Emergencies can be things such a snail bait poisoning, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call. It is best to call before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency.
